Together is a French house duo consisting of DJ Falcon and one-half of Daft Punk, Thomas Bangalter.[1] They released tracks on Bangalter's own label titled Roulé. The duo released two songs: "So Much Love to Give" and "Together". DJ Falcon publicly played an early version of Eric Prydz's "Call on Me", leading it to be mistakenly credited as a Together production in an unofficial pressing.[2]

[edit] Recording history

The song "Together" begins with a short segment of speech from the film Pleasantville. The line "A time has come to make a decision: are we in this thing alone, or are we in it together?" appears in the bowling scene of the film. The main vocals in the song are sampled from Sweet Sensation's "Sincerely Yours". The background vocals were sampled from Slave's "Because of You". "Together" was released in 2000 while Together's second track, "So Much Love To Give", was released in 2002. An imported version of the single peaked at #71 in the UK Singles Chart in January 2003.[1] The song contains a sample of "Love's Such a Wonderful Thing" by The Real Thing, which repeats throughout the song. The same sample was also used by Freeloaders in their 2005 single also titled "So Much Love to Give".

Musical elements of "Together" later appeared during the encore performance of Daft Punk's 2007 live sets. It is paired with Stardust's song, "Music Sounds Better With You", as well as Daft Punk's tracks "Human After All", "One More Time", and "Aerodynamic". A recording of the encore is included in the two-disc edition of the live album Alive 2007. Both the sets and the album renewed interest in the song.
