Toonumbar Dam is a dam built across the Iron Pot Creek that creates the artificial Lake Toonumbar. The dam is located 31km West of Kyogle, New South Wales, Australia.
The dam's roles are to conserve water, decrease the flood risk in the area and mainly provide water for crop irrigation in the Richmond Vally Shire.

[edit] Purpose
The dam was primarily designed as an irrigation water storage facility and building commenced in 1969 and ended in 1971.
- Lake Toonumbar also provides a location for freshwater sports fishing for the species Australian Bass. Boat access is available at Bells Bay and near the dam wall, combustion engine powered craft are permitted to use the dam as long as the 8 knot speed limit is kept to.

- Toonumbar Dam has been stocked regularly with Australian Bass and Eastern Cod (totally protected in NSW) fingerlings.
- It is also known as one of the best bass fisheries on the North Coast.
