According to Gartner Group, who created this evaluation method, the abbreviation TVO means total value of ownership.
Differs from total cost of ownership (TCO) in that it considers the benefits of alternative investments. It is a comparative measure that evaluates the TCO and any additional benefits, such as the mobility of laptops when compared to desktop computers.
