Très Hanley (/ˈtr/ Tray) is an American and British actress and singer.

Early life[edit]

Hanley was born in Jersey City, New Jersey.[citation needed] Her mother is of Italian descent and her father's family is from County Cork, Ireland.[citation needed] As a child, Hanley frequently traveled with her paternal grandmother to England to visit family.[citation needed]

Hanley attended the Juilliard School in New York City to study opera performance.[citation needed]

Career[edit]

While in college, Hanley appeared in a concert at Lincoln Center[when?] conducted by Leonard Bernstein, where she sang "Glitter and Be Gay" from Candide.[citation needed] In 1993 she played Polly Peachum in a London production of The Beggar's Opera.[citation needed]

Hanley moved to London by the early 1990s and appeared in television shows, including As Time Goes By (1995) as Young Jean;[citation needed] Casualty (1995) as Meg;[citation needed] Hale & Pace (1994) as Nancy;[citation needed] and as a flight attendant in Murder Most Horrid (1996).[citation needed] She played Carol in season 1 of the BBC's My Hero (2000).[citation needed] In the US she appeared in Tales from the Crypt (1996) as Joanna;[citation needed] and The Case-Book of Sherlock Holmes (1993) as Alice.[citation needed] In Germany and other European markets, she was seen in advertisements for Bacardi in the mid-1990s.[citation needed] On screen she played an air hostess who sleeps with Lord Rivers (played by Robert Downey Jr.) in the 1930s-set 1995 film adaptation of Richard III and Debra Reynolds in the 1995 film Boca a boca (Mouth to Mouth), opposite Javier Bardem.[1]

She released an album, "Shades of Darkness", in 2021, consisting of songs written by Hanley and Daniel Moctezuma.[citation needed] Hanley recorded a song, "Fade to Black", by Bernardo Bonezzi for the soundtrack of Boca a boca.[2] A music video for "Fade to Black" features Bonezzi's home films as well as clips from some of his appearances.[3]
