Tryokhgorny (Russian: Трёхго́рный, lit. (a town of) three mountains) is a closed town in Chelyabinsk Oblast, Russia, located in the western part of the oblast 200 kilometers (120 mi) from Chelyabinsk. Population: 33,678 (2010 Census preliminary results);[2] 34,290 (2002 Census).[3]

It was founded in 1952, and was earlier known under the name Zlatoust-36 (Златоуст-36).[citation needed]
[edit] Administrative and municipal status
Administratively, it is incorporated as the Town of Tryokhgorny—an administrative unit with the status equal to that of the districts.[1] Municipally, the Town of Tryokhgorny is incorporated as Tryokhgorny Urban Okrug.[1]

The town is closed because a plant producing parts of atomic reactors is located there.
