Truven Health Analytics
Truven Health Analytics (previously known as Thomson Healthcare) is a health analytical company specializing in Clinical Decision support, Employer Data, Global Data, Federal Government Healthcare Analytics, Medicaid Data, Research and Analytics, and Pharmaceuticals. Thomson Healthcare was one of the five operating divisions of the Thomson Corporation until 2008. Following the merger[1] of Thomson with Reuters to form Thomson Reuters in 2008, it became the healthcare business unit of the new company. In 2009, it merged with Thomson Scientific to form the Healthcare & Science unit of the Professional Division of Thomson Reuters; the other units include Legal and Tax & Accounting.
On April 23, 2012, Thomson Reuters agreed to sell Thomson Healthcare to Veritas Capital for US$1.25B.[2] On June 6, 2012, the sale of the healthcare division was finalized and Veritas Capital named the new company Truven Health Analytics.[3] Truven is a combination of the words "Trusted" and "proven."

Truven sells informational healthcare products and services that support clinical patient care and healthcare management. Legacy brands include Medstat, MercuryMD, Micromedex, and Solucient.[4]
Micromedex [edit]
Micromedex is a health information system expanded upon by Thomson Reuters and carried on into Truven Healthcare after the merger. Micromedex is an online database that includes referenced information about drugs, toxicology, diseases, acute care, and alternative medicine for healthcare professionals to make informed clinical diagnosis and treatment decisions. Micromedex uses different types of online systems.
CareNotes System [edit]
CareNotes is a patient education product with information about aspects of patient care, medical conditions and treatment, medications, and health, in up to 15 languages.
RED BOOK Online (Access through MICROMEDEX 2.0) [edit]
Provides daily access to drug pricing and descriptive information for more than 200,000 active and deactivated FDA-approved prescription and over-the-counter(OTC) medications, nutraceuticals, bulk chemicals as well as for some medical devices and supplies.
Formulary Advisor [edit]
Formulary Advisor is an easy-to-use online formulary management tool to effectively manage and update a hospital's formulary and communicate the most current formulary information facility-wide.
PDR Electronic Library [edit]
The PDR Electronic Library provides instant access to FDA approved drug information to include drug interactions, side effects, recommended dosages, contraindications, and more.
