The 16235/16236 Tuticorin Mysore Express is a daily train service between the cities of Thoothukudi and Mysore operated by the Indian Railways. This is the only of the two high patronage trains from southern districts of Tamil Nadu that connects with Bangalore and Mysore.
This train connects the Palace City, Mysore with the Pearl City, Tuticorin in Tamil Nadu. The train initially operated from Madurai to Bangalore before being extended to Tuticorin, after that its extended from Banglore to Mysore. Then the train belonged to the Southern Railway and hence is numbered as 16731/16732.Now its renumbered to 16235/16236 so now its operated by South Western Railway. Its one of the highly patronized train of Madurai division in Southern railways like Pandiyan express and Nellai express. Passengers from Southern districts requested to Railway Department to divert this train via Karur - Namakkal - Salem new line instead of Erode line due to shorter route and also this reduces the traveling time up to 1.30 Hours.
