The U.S. House election, 1806 was an election for the United States House of Representatives to the Tenth United States Congress. Voting in the various states took place between April 1806 (New York) and August 1807 (Tennessee) with the Congress meeting on October 26, 1807.
The Democratic-Republicans continued to command a huge supermajority, as they gained a small number of new seats. Commitment to agrarian policy allowed the Democratic-Republicans to dominate rural districts, which represented the bulk of the nation. Meanwhile, supporters of the Federalists, even in their traditional base of support in the urban centers of coastal New England, continued to grow with discontent over party ineffectiveness.
