The 1954 United States midterm elections were held on November 2, 1954. Incumbent President of the United States Dwight D. Eisenhower and the Republican Party lost eighteen seats to the Democratic Party in the House of Representatives. The Republicans also lost two seats in the U.S. Senate to the Democrats.[1]
