The 1958 United States midterm elections were held on November 4, 1958. Incumbent President of the United States Dwight D. Eisenhower and the Republican Party lost forty-eight seats to the Democratic Party in the House of Representatives. The Republicans also lost thirteen seats in the U.S. Senate to the Democrats.^[1]
