United States elections, 1978
The 1978 United States midterm elections were held on November 7, 1978. Incumbent President of the United States Jimmy Carter and the Democratic Party lost fifteen seats to the Republican Party in the House of Representatives. The Democrats also lost three seats in the U.S. Senate to the Republicans.
