The Universal Village Collaboration Suite (UVC) is groupware and collaboration software that works online and allows users to share and collaborate in real-time. UVC offers a free version as well as a subscription based option for enhanced collaboration features. The software is a hosted/Software as a service solution.

UVC is used mainly by Small to Medium sized businesses around the world.

Features[edit]

UVC includes the following out of the box modules: a contact manager, task and project management, online calendar, instant messenger, email and file collaboration. UVC works online and lets users share their information in real-time. Offline support with full two way synchronization is available as well. UVC allows for Over the Air Sync with Mobile phones and handheld devices (SyncML based sync).

The UVC software stack has multiple components, including a Java Swing based front end that works on Windows (95, 98, 2000, XP, Vista and Windows 7), Mac OS X 10.2 or higher as well as the various flavors of Linux and Solaris operating systems. UVC is a connected application which makes use of multi-threading to hide latency when communicating over the network. It also uses a local database storage based on the H2 database engine.
