UNIFESP (Universidade Federal de São Paulo - Federal University of São Paulo) is a university in the state of São Paulo, Brazil. It is the best federal institution of higher education of Brazil, according to the Brazilian Ministry of Education (MEC).

Until 2005 UNIFESP was exclusively for Health Sciences, but after that year, an expansion plan began and the university became a multi-area school. Now it has 5 campi, the oldest in Vila Clementino, in São Paulo (Health) and four more in Guarulhos (Humanities area), Diadema (Chemistry and related), Santos (Health) and São José dos Campos (computational area). New campuses are planned in Santo Amaro (São Paulo) and Osasco for economics and accounting.
