Punjab University College of Information Technology (PUCIT) is a college of computer sciences and information technology at the University of the Punjab (PU) located in Lahore, Pakistan. The college is located on the university's Allama Iqbal Campus (Old Campus) in Bahawalpur house near old Anarkali.

The Punjab University College of Information Technology was established with the name Center for Computer Science in 1988. It was situated in the Center for Solid State Physics on the University of the Punjab's New Campus. The first program offered was a year-long, two-semester postgraduate diploma (PGD) for which 24 students were registered. This program was offered until 2000.

In 1991 the Center for Computer Science was upgraded to the Department of Computer Science and for the first time a full-fledged two-year MSc program in computer science was offered. The first ever intake for the program was 15 students, which eventually increased to 30.

In December 2000, the Department was further upgraded to a full-fledged college under the new name of the Punjab University College of Information Technology.

College Library

Punjab University College of Information Technology has a rich content library consisting of books from Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, and Physics. Novels and Poetry books are also kept in the library for recreation. Library also keeps the copies of documentations of final projects and thesis written by graduating students. Higher Education Commission, Pakistan also provided digital access of large amount of digital books to students of college making electronic education easy.

College has four state-of-the-art computer laboratories providing students the access to internet and to fulfill the on-campus need of computers and technology. Another computer laboratory, specialized only for post-graduate students is built for students having research on innovative topics. An electronics laboratory is made for electronics and physics purposes.

  • SOFTEC - Third in the 9th All Pakistan SOFTEC' 04[2] - held at NUCES, Lahore

  • A PUCIT student was selected among the top eight speakers in the "Student Convention"[8]
  • A PUCIT student was selected among the top three articles writers in a National article writing competition held by The News[8]
