Louisiana State University Laboratory School (U-High) is a laboratory school under the Louisiana State University College of Education.

Located on the LSU campus in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, it is the only school in the state of Louisiana that offers the International Baccalaureate program. This school teaches grades K–12 and is known as 'U-High' or 'UHS' to most schools in the parish. Louisiana State University Laboratory School is ranked 205 in Newsweek’s 2005 list of the Best High Schools in the United States [1]

University High is one of two laboratory schools in Baton Rouge. The other is Southern Laboratory School (commonly known as "Southern Lab"), which is operated by Southern University on the north side of the city.

[edit] School uniforms

Students are required to wear school uniforms [2]. These uniforms consist of a polo shirt embossed with the school logo for all students, skorts or skirts of an appropriate length in the school plaid, and shorts or pants of any type (again in the appropriate length). Skirts do not necessarily need to be of the school plaid.

[edit] Athletics

The mascot of the school is the Cubs, in reference to the school's association with the LSU Tigers. The Cubs compete in LHSAA Class 2A and field many successful teams in sports such as Soccer, Football, Basketball, Baseball, Girls' Volleyball, Swimming, Track and Field, Cross Country, and Golf.
