Uppara is the name of a caste or minority group in India.This Uppara community people knew the method of preparing salt[uppu].according to history of Bagiratharaya they belong to Kshatriya kula and escaped from Lord Parshurama by being killed . By tradition, their occupation is stonecutting.[1]
