Greetings. My name is Dave. You probably stumbled upon this page while doing a web search for a certain march or something, didn't you? I must say, I get several emails a week (no exaggeration) from many different people, ranging from performers, band directors, researchers, or just the plain curious folk. Please do not hesitate to contact me. I always enjoy hearing from a fellow march music fan. I try to answer every email within one week, but please understand I am still a student at heart with a pitiful amount of spare time. Do not feel I am ignoring you.

I have a bachelor's degree in Music/Saxophone performance from Central Connecticut State University. I have been an active musician all of my life. I've played the alto saxophone since I was in 3rd grade, and participated in all sorts of musical settings. I was a lead musician in the university wind, marching, and jazz ensemble. I've also participated in a fife in drum corps, played in a rock/jazz jam band, and spend my summers in the Windham Concert Band of Connecticut. I teach private saxophone lessons as well.

I respect every form of music, which I believe to be essential to being a true musician. However, my dedication has always been to the study of march music. Being a march music buff would be an understatement. I enjoy all aspects of march culture: collecting, research, conducting, and composition.

My Works[edit]

I am mainly a march composer, having written over 13 marches, three of which have been performed. "Parade of the Bandos" and "The '06" have been played by my highschool band. "Salute to Simsbury" was played by the Central Connecticut State Wind Ensemble at the 2006 CMEA Composer's Concert. I use Sibelius 5 notation software for all my work.

My March Collection[edit]

With close to 4,500 different traditional military/concert marches and quick-steps on recording, I pride myself in having one of the largest personal collections of digital march recordings in the country. If you have a larger collection, I'm impressed. Please contact me. I'd love to see what I don't have!

This is an incomplete list of marches I have on recording. While many of them I have obtained through the internet (don't worry.. no illegal downloads), I have also purchased many CD albums.
