I started by working on the film serial entries when I found very few articles on the subject available on Wikipedia. This remains one of my main interests but circumstances and natural drift have caused me to branch out a bit. I have done some work on the subject of Robert E. Howard and intend to do a lot more in the future. Pulp magazines, which are connected to the previous examples by period and (in Howard's case) his primary medium, are another interest of mine. I have done little about this, however. I may remedy that eventually once I have done more with the first two and found more reliable reference material.
I am a member of WikiProject Films, WikiProject Novels (as well as its Fantasy task force) and the Article Rescue Squadron. I joined Wikipedia on 9th November 2006. If I had more time, I would do a lot more on Wikipedia. That said, I've had a few breaks in 2010 to deal with real life and following occasional frustration at stuff on Wikipedia.

[edit] Serials
Portal:Serials
I'm currently trying to fill in information on film serials, starting with Republic, after trying to find something and discovering a big gap on Wikipedia (well, a gap that I actually have the knowledge to remedy).
My problems in doing this persist and, in fact, get worse. For reasons that are not really important, several of my books relating to serials are currently at the bottom of the River Thames. This may impede my work (or at least impede useful references and information). I have since replaced some and found more in local libraries but progress may still be slow.
I've made stubs for all the serials that did not already exist and I'm, slowly, working through to fill them with more information. I eventually mean to fill in all the gaps with the other studios as well but Republic is first. This was probably not the best way to do this but it was the first big thing I did on Wikipedia and I didn't know any better. In addition to the articles, I have created templates (see below), a portal and an additional list. Hopefully my work on serials will include the people and stuidos involved with them.
[edit] Robert E. Howard
Portal:Robert E. Howard (shortcut: P:REH)
REH is one of my favourite authors. A lot of information is already on Wikipedia but I've tried to add more when and where I can. My biggest contribution so far is the List of works by Robert E. Howard and its spin off the List of poems by Robert E. Howard. Both list still need a little work (especially the older list of works which needs some of the new tricks I learned while making the poem list) but hopefully they'll be featured lists someday. Another work in progress is the REH portal mentioned above (shortcut: P:REH), although I'm still not sure what to do with the third tab.
I started creating stubs for some of his works that are not yet on Wikipedia, such as El Borak and Dark Agnes de Chastillon. As a rule of thumb, I am only putting individual stories into separate pages if there are four or more in the series. Dark Agnes, for example, only has three stories, so I included basic details in the Dark Agnes page. The articles with the story titles are just redirects to the appropriate section on that page (with a category entry so they can be found that way too). I stopped making the stubs as I grew more knowledgeable about Wikipedia. I aim to create articles as completely as possible (at the least, at start class) before adding them.
If you're also a fan, you might like the simple userbox I've created: {{User:AdamBMorgan/REH-UBX}} (which will add your userpage to Category:Wikipedians who read Robert E. Howard)
[edit] Pulp magazines
Another interest of mine with limited coverage on Wikipedia. I have done very little about this innterest so far as the previous personal projects take up a lot of my Wikipedia time. I've created the following so far:
The following is a brief, and probably incomplete, list of the pulp magazines currently on Wikipedia:
[edit] Other interests
I'm also interested in, and occasionally contribute to, other things. These include: Comic books, Films, Fan films, Rolepaying games (especially Shadowrun), History and the British Waterways System.
A few pages I've created as a result are:
As all of my fan film entries and edits have been deleted and removed, I obviously do not have a good grasp of the criteria for notability in this area. As such, I'm going to leave it alone for the moment.

What a Brilliant Idea Barnstar |
| For coming up with an elegant solution to both meeting the guidelines for Wikipedia citations and creating a way to update the existing mess of templates. Theornamentalist (talk) 15:42, 6 May 2011 (UTC) |

Thank you so much for updating and shepherding this entry. The work you've put in looks fantastic, and you've definitely earned a place on the Shield Wall for it! You may wish to consider adding to the media appearances that I adapted and performed as Costigan in the Radio Plays. I've got an wiki entry, but it needs work, too. Best wishes, Mark Finn |

Great updates to this page! It's nice to see an article get that fleshed out in a manner of a few hours after being created. Nice work! |
