Hello! I'm ais523, an incrementalist metapedian ex-administrator. (I removed my adminship due to inactivity; I'm sufficiently inactive nowadays that I'm unlikely to be able to answer queries on a reasonable timeframe.) I'm happy to help new users (or experienced users, for that matter); just leave a note on my talk page; in particular, I can help with wikimarkup (especially template wikimarkup), user scripts, and signatures. However, I'm not always online; if you don't need help from me in particular, then placing {{helpme}} on your own user-talk page is likely to produce faster results. I used to dabble in recent change and new-page patrol, deletion debates (particularly TfD, but also MfD, RfD, and AfD), and practicing advanced template wikimarkup (see an example to the left); nowadays, I still deal with template markup, but my focus (especially in terms of administrator actions) has shifted more to technical protected edit requests and account requests; non-administrative tasks include answering {{helpme}} and Help Desk requests, contributing to technical and proposal discussions, writing the technology report for the Wikipedia Signpost, and occasional continuations of what I used to do. I am a fan of esoteric programming languages. I run a bot, Bot523 and have an alternative account ais523 non-admin.

Note that I have ais523 as a unified login account; therefore, any user you see on Wikimedia wikis with the username ais523 is me.

My edit times: This is a graph of when I'm most usually active and editing (key: 0 edits, 31 edits, 62 edits, 93 edits, colors reflect the number of edits made in a particular 15-minute period on a particular day of the week totalled across all the weeks I've been editing).
