Interartcenter adopts Creative Commons licenses system or copyleft as a form of free digital clip art and photo image distribution. Many website such as Flickr and Photobucket use Creative Commons as an alternative to full attribution copyrights.

Origin[edit]

The first network's website artist-3d.com was established in 2002 to provide a place for any artist to exhibit and discuss works and to promote digital artists of various artistic forms and manifestations. The network websites are organized in a single wide-ranging structure that includes: graphic design software, 3-D models and rendered art, enhanced photography, animation, mixed clip art media, computer-painted and -drawn art, etc. Most of the artwork related websites have fantasy and surreal type images that reflect the founder's art prefrence.

Websites are free of adware, spyware, and other potentially unwanted programs, tested by McAfee SiteAdvisor.[3] The websites are organized and designed as one Internet portal with a similar user interface, but divided by each site's subject matter. Criticism[edit]

The artwork submission limit is in effect on the most trafficked Fantasyartdessign and Artdigitaldesign. The limit allows artists to submit and display only 4 artworks and one reference link per one catalog entry. This measure supposed to motivate them to submit only the best images and prevent members from using multiple entries for a better online exposure.

The quality over quantity position is one of the reasons why these communities did not grow as fast as free for all digital image hosting websites like Deviantart of Flikr. Despite its 2-3 million page views per month, the network has only about 3000 active user accounts. Some of the websites have excessive number of advertising units.
