Sorry - I honestly can't stand it here any longer; the shoring up of bad BLPs, the POV-pushing, the hidden agendas, the pseudonymous editors who wish to use Wikipedia as a machine to damage very real people. I spent my last few months on here oversighting hatred and unsourced, potentially libelous attacks on others. Many of the BLPs on here are in a state of disarray. I've personally seen enough anguish from so many subjects, having worked behind the scenes in Oversight. This was one of the last things to keep me on here; just that day-to-day pushing against the tide.
Folks, please;
- Implement Flagged Revisions for all BLPs. Do it now.
- Seriously consider removing anon editing and consider some possible system of authentication.
- Raise the bar on the BLP acceptability threshold - possibly consider Durova's 'dead tree' criteria.
- AfDs for BLP should default to delete.
- Remove BLPs by request of the subject. It's the right thing to do.
And that's just what immediately comes to mind.
Okay - catch yiz later. I'll be around certain minority language wikis and maybe Commons, but I really need to get out of this place right now.
