Alonzo Sebastian Blalock (born April 8, 1987), is considered to be one of the youngest, motivational community leaders in North Louisiana. Currently a sophomore mass communication major at Grambling State University, Alonzo one day hopes to have his ouwn Daytime Talk Show and/or sitcom. But as of now-within six years- Alonzo has participated in over 24 activities, organizations, and/or committees that contribute to the success of our community's youth.
[edit] Educational History
Blalock was born in Shreveport, Louisiana. In 1991, at the age of three, Alonzo began his educaitonal career at Laurel Street Early Childhood Education Center, and was accepted to South Highlands Elementary Magnet School, a school of performing arts, the following year. 1995 He made his on-stage debut as Jack Frost, in stage play "Seeds Needs." Then again later that year, he appereared in the leading role of "Monster Mash" as the Monster King. In the first grade he had been placed in the G.A.T.E.Way program, which is for gifted and talented students, while also participating in the orchestra and Boy Scouts of America.
He began his fifth grade year at Holy Rosary Catholic School, staying only three weeks before moving to Atlanta, GA. H.O. Burgess became a place where he first encountered his vocal talent and leadership abiliites. He was the lead male vocalist in his choir, served as the president, won oration contests, and starred as Martin Luther King in the school musical "We Shall Overcome."
