The AVR-5308CI is a flagship surround sound receiver made by Denon. The unit has Dolby True HD and DTS-HD Master Audio decoding. It is THX-Ultra2 certified. The unit has seven 150 watt power amplifiers and consumes around 1300 watts (120 volts by 11 amps) of power. The power ratings were made at 0.05% total harmonic distortion. Although it is a seven-channel unit, it has 11 speaker connections as different "zones" can be selected using the amp assign feature. Uniquely, the unit is equipped with two remote controls, one with a touch screen which is dedicated to the receiver, and a second universal remote for controling other components. The AVR-5308CI is satellite radio, HD radio, and XM radio ready; has WMA and mp3 decoding. It also has a satellite TV, WLAN antenna, Ethernet and USB connections.  The retail price for this unit is $5,500 US Dollars and it was released in January 2008.
The unit measures 17.1 inches wide by 8.5 inches high by 19.25 inches deep and weighs 62.7 pounds. The entire back face of the unit is filled with the multitudinous connections and interfaces with the unit.
