ORIX USA Corporation is a financial services group established in 1981 in New York City, New York. ORIX USA’s headquarters moved to 1717 Main Street in Dallas, Texas, in 2003 and has principal offices in Atlanta, Chicago, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, New York, San Francisco, Washington, D.C., Frankfurt, London, and Paris. ORIX USA is a wholly owned U.S. subsidiary of ORIX Corporation, a $83 billion, publicly traded, international diversified financial services firm headquartered in Tokyo, Japan, with operations in 26 countries worldwide. ORIX Corp. is listed on the Tokyo (8591) and New York (NYSE:IX) stock exchanges.
ORIX USA has more than $5 billion of investments in commercial finance, venture finance, commercial real estate, mortgage-backed securities, municipal obligations and commercial equipment leases, direct and indirect lending to mid-sized businesses, underwriting and syndication of multifamily housing bonds and related tax credits. ORIX USA’s key business areas are corporate finance, real estate finance and public finance. In 2006, ORIX USA acquired the investment bank Houlihan Lokey Howard & Zukin to address the growing international demand for middle-market investment banking services. In 2010, ORIX USA acquired RED CAPITAL GROUP that provides financing for multifamily, senior living and health care projects through various FHA and Fannie Mae Programs. RED CAPITAL GROUP continues to operate from its Columbus, Ohio offices. Today, ORIX USA employs more than 1,400 employees in headquarters and regional offices.
Philanthropy
ORIX USA expanded its philanthropic initiative in November 2009, through the creation of the ORIX Foundation (www.orixfoundation.org), to support the growing community philanthropy of ORIX USA and its employees. Thefoundation’s main focus is to support nonprofit organizations which provide basic needs to children and families in the communities where ORIX USA employees live and work.
