Welcome to my user page! My name is Gertjan R., I am a Belgian contributor from Ghent.

From 2004 until January 18, 2011, I contributed as Belgian man.

I am a bureaucrat at the Wikipedia in Nauruan, an endangered language spoken in Nauru, and an ambassador of the Yoruba Wikipedia and Nauruan Wiktionary.

For the moment, I am active daily on the Dutch en English Wikipedia only. Here, I contribute mainly to articles related to

In addition to this, a have many other interests (see below), and I still watch almost all articles I have started that have nothing to do with aviation in Kiribati as well.

I am fluent in Dutch, almost fluent in French, German and English, have basic knowledge of Gheg Albanian, Finnish, Latin, Old French, Portuguese, Serbian, Spanish and Tosk Albanian, have some very humble notions of Bosnian, Catalan, Croatian, Czech, Estonian, Greek, Hungarian, Italian, Quechua, Slovene and Turkish, and I know (most) pronunciation rules and a few words in Armenian, Belarusian, Bulgarian, Gagauz, Georgian, Macedonian, Mingrelian, Occitan, Palauan, Polish, Romanian, Russian, Slovak, Sonsorolese, Tobian and Ukrainian.

At the age of 18, when I finished high school, I had been studying Dutch for 12 years, French for 10 years, Latin for 6 years, English for 5 years, German for 3 years, and Spanish for 2 years. I am currently studying French and German linguistics and literature, with Portuguese and Finnish as optional subjects, at Ghent University.
