Rules[edit]

  • [sic]
It is *not* good style to put "sic" after every quote!
"sic" exists to explain distracting stuff in verbatim quotations. All other uses of it *create* an unnecessary distraction for the reader.
See WP:MOS#Original wording
Btw: wp-de has a standing policy to hide <!-- (sic) --> in the markup.

Howtos[edit]

(stuff I never remember when I need it)

  • Redirect
#REDIRECT [[WalkThisWay]]
For the other use of the word, see This Article (here).
is generated by entering:
{{For|the other use of the word|This Article (here)}}
For the radio show, see Mooney (radio programme). For the aircraft manufacturer, see Mooney Aviation Company.

{{about|the radio show|Mooney (radio programme)|the aircraft manufacturer|Mooney Aviation Company}}

Just put a colon at the front of the link
[[:Category:Siouan languages]] --> Category:Siouan languages
Thanks to User:Kwamikagami for pointing this out!
  • Reference Decluttering
Footnotes belong at the foot of the document - and that goes for markup source as well!
This is how it's done:
Some Fact.<ref name="Ref One"/>
And then at the bottom the == References == section:
{{reflist|refs=
<ref name="Ref One">
{{cite web
  | url = http://www.hatev.er.URL.it's.at
  | title = Whatever It's Called
  | last =
  | first =
  | date =
  | website =
  | publisher =
  | accessdate =
}}
</ref>
}}
Consult Wikipedia:Citing_sources#Avoiding_clutter for further details.
