[edit] Knowledge and Interests
I'm a huge nerd. Sci-fi, fantasy, anime, sometimes comics, and of course the internet. I program a little, read a lot (when I can), and draw excessive analogies to my fandoms.
I have a Bachelor's of Arts in Feminist studies from a university in the United States. Lately my interests have taken a turn more towards the sciences and Feminist Science Studies. I've always been somewhat interested in them, but my concentration has to do with culture - Film, Literature, etc. I'm hoping to join the two disciplines in my future work. My university program attempts to be international, but tends to slip towards several main areas - the Americas, especially English and Spanish-speaking areas, the Middle East, and South Asia. Lately I have become concerned with Systemic Bias on Wikipedia and with my own biases, though I don't believe that either issue can ever be completely resolved - rather they must be made visible and consciously reduced where possible.
I'm a bit of a stickler for grammar, but only in writing, so I find myself making minor edits to fix such errors.
I may not always be very active. But I'll be back. Probably.
