Products and Services[edit]

Bridge DataRoam[edit]

In November 2007, Bridge Alliance launched its mobile data roaming plan, ‘Bridge DataRoam’ across 11 territories in the region.[4] Bundled monthly subscription plans were offered (Bridge DataRoam15 and Bridge DataRoam40), applicable when customers roam on Bridge Alliance member networks.

Till this day, Bridge DataRoam remains a popular product with its member’s customers. To cater to a wider range of needs, variations of the data roaming plans are offered by the 11 member operators.

Bridge VoiceSMS Roam[edit]

In September 2011, Bridge Alliance launched Bridge VoiceSMS Roam, the region’s first one-rate roaming price plan for voice call minutes and SMS messages.[5]

Bridge VoiceSMS Roam offers bundled voice minutes and SMS messages, which can include[5]:

  • Receiving incoming calls from anywhere around the world
  • Making outgoing calls to home country and to local numbers in visited country
  • Sending SMS to any country globally
  • Receiving SMS from anywhere, free

The plan is available to AIS (Thailand) and Globe Telecom (Philippines) subscribers travelling in the 11 Bridge Alliance members’ locations.

Regional Brand Campaign[edit]

In December 2011, Bridge Alliance launched “The Smiling Traveller”, a new regional brand campaign that highlights how Bridge Alliance can help business and leisure travellers enjoy roaming and have savings on their roaming bills when travelling across the Asia Pacific.[6][7]

Together with an international advertising agency, Bridge Alliance has created “The Smiling Traveller” icon to personify commitment from Bridge Alliance and its member operators to deliver customer satisfaction and convenience with their roaming services offering. The icon, shaped as a tall-beacon-like character, represents a friendly travel companion which is flexible and adaptable across all cultures and users. The adaptable nature of the icon makes it an ideal unifying communications agent for the 11 Bridge Alliance member operators, enabling a regional and local communication and branding effort.[7]

“The Smiling Traveller” highlights Bridge Alliance’s geographical reach through the Bridge Alliance member operators’ networks and the Alliance’s core purpose to provide innovative roaming products and services to their customers and travellers. The campaign also highlights how travellers can travel carefree, by using Bridge services and roaming with Bridge Alliance members’ networks while they are overseas.[7]

See the “Making of the Icon” video.

Data Roaming Usage & Savings Calculator[edit]

Bridge Alliance provides a unique tool that estimates the usage and savings a user can have when he chooses the Bridge data roaming service over similar services in the market.

The calculator caters to all types of user profiles, with preset figures on the number of emails, photo uploads and etc, which can be adjusted to reflect individual usage. These figures are used to estimate the savings a user can enjoy.
