This statement of course borrows heavily from a statement by Karl Marx when he said "from each according to his ability, to each according to his needs".
My primary meaning to the two sides is this:
Each person gives to Wikipedia according to the rules ... and what each person reads in the encyclopedia is according to what consensus was immediately before that.
