Born in Rock Hill, South Carolina, Carl was a double major in Philosophy and Computer Science at Furman University. Formerly employed as an Assistant Language Teacher for the JET Program in Takaoka, Toyama Prefecture, Japan, he is now earning a Master's degree in Philosophy at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa.
