Hi, my name is C.G.. I was born 1945 in Bursa, Turkey. Right after finishing the high school in Istanbul 1962, I went to Germany. First, I learnt German language in the Goethe-Institut in Grafing, Bavaria. Then, I studied mining engineering at the RWTH Aachen and graduated in 1971. Then, I received my PhD in mining automation (summa cum laude) under the supervision of Prof. Sann. However, since 1967 my interest has always been in scientific software development . So, I worked in the computer center of the RWTH for some years. In 1979, I returned back to Turkey to help found and lead a computer center. This time, I was involved in management information systems development. End of 1983, I came by chance into shoe business –not show business :-)- and since then I am in this branch. I am a Rotarian since 1993. My interests are: Programming (unix, database, simulation), Mathematics (differential equations, trigonometry), Physics (classical mechanics), History (discoveries), Formula One, Country music. I speak Turkish, German and English. I am married since 1980 without kids. I travelled almost everywhere in Europe and the USA.
I discovered Wikipedia not a long time ago and started firstly to correct some articles. Now, I try to contribute by creating articles mostly about Turkey.
