From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Thank you for helping me out with this project. As already explained, I am investigating the culture of Wikipedia and this questionnaire is one element of that investigation. I would like to hear your personal narrative experience with Wikipedia. Your answers will not be tied to your personal or on-line identity in any way (even you choose to reveal those elements in your answers, in that case they will be kept confidential). And your e-mail address will not be used for any reason outside of this interview. Feel free to answer the questions using whatever style you would like and mentioning seemingly benign details (like feelings, emotions, and personal opinions…stuff that isn’t strictly part of the electronic environment) will be very helpful. Thank you again for your time.

Questions.

  1. How did you first get involved with Wikipedia?
  2. Why did you end up setting up an account, and what benefits/hindrances have you encountered because of your account?
  3. How has your editing changed since you first started?
  4. Tell me about how you use your watchlist page.
  5. How do the rules of Wikipedia affect your interactions with other editors?
  6. What are the elements of Wikipedia you find most helpful in interacting with other editors, and what elements you find hinder the process.

I would like the opportunity to contact you again for clarification, would it be ok for me to contact you again in relation to these questions? please e-mail your answers to Marc Rich's e-mail adress found at the University of Colorado website:
