Author Davan Yahya Khalil is a political activist and supporter of the PDK (Partîya Demokrata Kurdistan – Kurdistan Democratic Party). He was resettled from his home in Iraqi Kurdistan by Saddam Hussein’s regime in the 1980s and witnessed the atrocities inflicted upon his people first-hand. Forced to leave his homeland in 1993 like many of his countrymen he started a new life in the UK. He continued his fight against Saddam by raising awareness for his people and their plight. This book is an insight into the oppression suffered, the struggle endured and an optimistic feeling for the future of modern Kurdistan.
