David Hallett is a graduate of the University of Waikato where he completed a BSc in Computer Science majoring in Information Systems.
Currently he lives with his wife Raewyn and daughters, Eva-Elise and Bella in the country near Ngahinapouri village, close to the city of Hamilton, which is located in the Waikato region of New Zealand. Most of his time is spent consulting or working on fascinating development projects (often involving Java, Linux and Oracle).
Whether working in his consultancy company, Hallett IT Consulting or his implementation company, Pulsar Computer Solutions Ltd, David ends up spending a fair amount of time in Auckland where he (and some of his team) provide IT related consultancy, services and products to a range of companies. Whilst in Auckland, he often dines with friends at his favourite dining establishment, the famed Indian resturant, Little India.
If you want to talk to him interactively, he is often seen on Undernet IRC in the channels #Java, #gardening, and/or #wlug using the nick Bryin or DavidH.
Some of his passions revolve around gardening. He has particular interest in Tomato breeding, outdoor garden automation, soil-sustainability and permaculture. He has plans to implement an automated "Technology Garden" in the near future. His plans include using components and control-systems similar to those that are found in greenhouse and hydroponic configurations.
