Deryck Chan began editing Wikipedia in 2004 editing mainly articles relating to chemistry, computing and places in Hong Kong. He became an administrator of the English Wikipedia in March 2007. He passed his 10000th edit protecting an article he didn't actually care about on the afternoon of Valentine's Day 2012.

He is a proud son of fellow editor emkfchan, and is an administrator open to recall.
