Doctor Free is the Wikipedia user name of Dr. Ronald Joe Record.
Dr. Record obtained a Ph.D. in Mathematics from the University of California at Santa Cruz in 1994. He is currently employed by VMware as a Staff Engineer in the Engineering Services group. He was previously employed as the chief open source software architect at The Santa Cruz Operation (SCO) from 1983 until 2009. Prior to that, he served as a teaching assistant at UCSC and worked at NASA Ames Research Center in the automated guidance and navigation laboratory.
