I,
Tony the Marine, do hereby bestow a long-overdue Barnstar on you for your dedication to the Wiki project and for being there when needed. Your assistance is deeply and sincerely appreciated not just by me but by many other users. I, hereby knight you "
Sir James the Dependable".
James, also known as "Everyking", has been a Wikipedian since February 2004. He was an admin from May 2004 to September 2006 and has been an admin again since January 2010. Feel free to leave a message on talk.
About me
I am from the U.S. state of Georgia. I primarily enjoy topics related to history, politics, and culture.
I am a strong believer that process is important. I support the idea that community-oriented decision-making combined with a clear rules-based structure are necessary elements of mature project governance. I oppose the practice of controversial decisions being taken by individual admins. It is important that admins are perceived as subject to the community while being simultaneously a part of the community: admins should be carrying out the community's wishes with regard to policy, and they should deliberate with other admins and the broader community when they encounter difficult situations.
Regarding article content and topics, I am strongly inclusionist—I believe that all verifiable information that meets a reasonable minimum standard of notability should be included. I think that notability should be defined according to the attention received by a subject, as reflected in published sources, and not according to any inherent characteristic of the subject. While we work to expand content with minimal restriction, we should also strongly emphasize the importance of good writing and referencing.
At the summit of Wikipedia's potential is a vast, unmatched collection of human knowledge, freely available to all and open to the contributions of everyone. Wiki works!
