Me[edit]

I am a Jewish professor (and rabbi) at a Florida Catholic University.

My special interests[edit]

My special interests include:

  • Jewish-Christian Relations, in history and today -- with a special interest in Jewish-Catholic relations
  • Jews and government, including the military -- with a special interest in U.S. Presidents and the Jewish community
  • The Holocaust -- with a special interest in religious responses, both in writings and in the actions of religious leaders
  • Rabbis who should be remembered, for their contributions and their lives
  • Jews in sports
  • Jewish gangsters
  • Religion and society -- and Church-and-State issues

(I have not yet worked on Wikipedia articles linked to sports or gangsters...but the future is filled with possibilities!)

Background[edit]

For information: some of my contributions to Wikipedia are done long-hand, by telephone, or through email, with my (more computer-savvy) staff or colleagues entering the information. (They are becoming the real experts in terms of things like references!) In at least one case, this process has led to a "wikipedia friendship" with colleagues who now also appreciate and respect the importance of wikipedia, and its potential of wikipedia to record history and help others learn from that history, and we have helped correct and improve each other's articles.
