Hello my name is David Glynn Clarke I have been editing Wikipedia for just over 2 years now and I achieved my 13,000th edit on the 19th of February 2010 at 11:00AM (GMT) and Achieved my first Barnstar on the 2nd of November 2008 at 00:04pm. (GMT), I try to edit as often as I can when im not busy because when im not editing I am often studying. I became a Wikipedian on the 12 of July 2007 at 15:40pm but made many edits before I actually made an account through the IP address 82.42.159.94 which I still use from time to time. I was first drawn to wikipedia by my love for studying and gaining knowledge and once I found wikipedia I have never turned back and have become totally addicted to it. My Username The Gr8opinionater is a nickname I have been saddled with from my friends as im so opinionated about Everything!! It has virtually become my Nom De Gurre so I decided to use it as my alias here on wikipedia and on all the other wikisites like Wikinews, Wikimedia commons, Meta Wiki, Wikiversity, Wiktionary, Wikibooks, Wikimedia Commons, wikispecies Wikiquote and many of the foreign language wikipedias through my universal account and on various other websites I am on like Youtube. At the present time I'm currently a student in sixth form. my main interests are History especially ancient, political, military, UK, Irish and Local Merseyside history, geography, politics and current affairs (This is my main interest), Philosophy, Computers, Science and Science fiction, Reading (I particularly love reading newspapers of any political position or language Except, for obvious reasons, The Scum. I love The Lord of the Rings, Left Behind, and political and science fiction books) and different cultures, religions and cults (I am a practising Christian who believes that Atheism is ridiculous considering all the evidence to support there is a God) Languages, Astronomy (I have my own telescope and consider myself an Amateur astronomer) and the Paranormal. I am also interested in the greatest sport in the world, football! and all sport in general. I am a Liverpool FC who watches them on Television whenever I can and I go to the match when I can afford to. I hope we win the league, This Year or very soon. Hopefully soon these Boardroom problems between Tom Hicks and George Gillette will be sorted out and every one will be behind Rafa and the boys and the owners will back him to the hilt with cash to get the players we need. My favourite players are Steven gerrard, Fernando Torres, Javier Mascherano, Steve Finnan and Jamie Carragher. Television wise I love programs on political debate like prime ministers question time and question time, I love cartoons and I also like the News and documentaries and also I am a lover of Doctor who (My favourite Incarnations of the doctor are those played by Patrick Troughton, Jon Pertwee and Tom Baker Though i like them all) and My favourite movies are Star wars and The Lord of the Rings.

I am a very political, religious, and philosophical person with a mild and pleasant attitude I am not a very quick tempered person and I only get angry if somebody insults me or something or somebody I care about and always keen to have a good debate. I come from a working class background and live in and have been raised all my life in the area of Orrel in my home town of Bootle but was born on the 19th of August 1991 in Fazakerley both of which are districts in the city of Liverpool though Bootle is administered separately by Sefton council for the sake of local government purposes, (Bootle is part of the Liverpool Urban Area and is usually generally considered to be, by anybody, in Liverpool and even has the same postcode, L20) in the county of Merseyside, England, United kingdom So therefore i have the very proud honor of being a Scouser/Merseysider and laugh in the face of those who think it is a pejorative for robbing and being a scaly and is something to be ashamed of because it just shows how little they know about this great city, its culture, its history and its people. I am of multiple ancestries with ancestors from Holyhead in Wales, Argentina, England, and Finland on my mothers side. I am of Irish blood on my fathers side. my ancestors came from a small cottage on a farm in the village of Killean just outside Newry, County Armagh, Northern Ireland which me and my family go to every summer. as such I have been raised to be fiercely proud of my heritage and have learned what the Irish people have fought for (including some of my relatives) and I am inspired by it and Ireland is very close to my heart i am proud to be descended from the Gaels, I love Irish culture and Irish music and I hopefully soon will get an Irish passport. But although I do come from an nationalist/republican background and do not agree with the Partition of Ireland and I do hope one day that it leads up to a peaceful path towards a United Ireland I am very pleased that war and sectarianism is over, that Catholics are finally treated as equal citizens and are equal in the governance of Northern Ireland along With Protestants\Unionists and that Ireland is finally at peace for the first time in its history. I am fiercely proud of my background and mine and my family's history plus My other main influences in life Socialism and My faith.

I do not consider
Christians to be separate denominations rather they are one church with different and equal ways of worshipping.
I am a Christian and as such I try to live my life to the best of my ability to the teachings and words set down by our Lord to guide us through our lives freely and morally. God teaches us to help and to care our fellow man and to never abandon him, To be humble and to put the greater good and benefit of humanity above your own desires, To love our brothers no matter what sexual and racial inclination they are, to give to receive, and to not profit or cause the suffering and persecution of others And to resist the temptations of the evil one. God is a great source of strength for me and I believe proof of God is everywhere you just have to look at the beauty of our earth and the universe itself and you have to ask yourself the questions is everything complex and do we exist because of random seemingly miraculous events that have just happened because of random reasons that happened at the right time for us and the universe to exist? or has everything been predetermined and planned to utter perfection for the sake of creation? and could all this complexity and diversity really be just products of some random Big bang or is it a product of a predetermined universe created in the Big bang? and are all the miraculous recoveries of people from seemingly terminal illnesses and is the paranormal all just random stuff that exists simply because of randomness. the proof for god is utterly everywhere Which is why i believe atheism is a ridiculous, absurd, and ignorant point of view which ignores the obvious, WE EXIST!!! and the universe is just far to complicated and complex to have just been created in some random event that just happened because it did without any reason for the universe, or us, to exist other than it just does, and ignores the basic simple fact that everybody and everything has a purpose and a reasoning to exist plus also something cannot be created out of nothing and that's exactly how the universe came into being it was born out of nothing, before it there was nothing so unless it was created then it could never have existed unless god created it because something would have had to have been there to create it. these reasons are why the teachings mentioned above are the greatest things man has ever received and it is very sad that the churches of Christ are split over issues especially when we all believe in the same basic things And especially when it is exceptionally important to maintain organised religion during these sad common day norms of people being Immoral and Atheist, the churches need to remain beacons of truth and hope in a dangerous and terrible, immoral, doubtful and hopeless world. I Myself come from a religiously mixed family of Protestant/Anglican/Church Of England members on my mothers side and Irish Roman Catholics on my fathers. I personally adhere to the Roman Catholic interpretations and teachings Although I believe all Churches of Christ whether Protestant, Catholic or Orthodox are equal and none is superior to another and I personally prefer to call my self singularly and foremost as a Christian and do not like to associate myself to a specific denomination and I attend a non denominational church and have attended Anglican services and Roman Catholic Masses in an attempt to draw greater understanding of the Christian faith than would be possible from the dogmatic views of just one denomination. and I also believe that Islam and Judaism are also equal to the Christian denominations Because they believe in the one true god and I also find it terribly sad that there is Armed conflict between adherents of these faiths because it is not what god wants. Christianity has had a profound influence over me Politically and socially because I am a profound believer in morality, Freedom, and helping others and being fair and equal, which is exactly what the bible preaches which is why I consider myself on the Christian left because Jesus was, because he stood up for and preached about helping the poor and lived among them, and stood up to tyranny and oppression and openly stood up to the corrupt and greedy Pharisees and their rules keeping the people down and stood up to the imperialistic Roman empire who crucified him for it.

I have a Vast interest in politics and often read allot of books on political philosophy and political figures and have read books ranging from Karl marxs, Das Kapital, to Adolf Hitlers evil and twisted Mein Kampf, my Father and my Uncle are big reasons for that, they were and still are strongly involved in Trade unions (both were Picketers). more so during Margaret thatchers years, as was my mother (Member of the GMB) and my Grandfather (each got their heads smashed in for it) and each is a member of the Labour party apart from my mother. I myself am going to join Labour in the near future and I am glad I will soon be able to vote in time to help them hopefully win the general election in 2010 and a fourth term in office. and my uncle also has strong links with Sinn Fein the Irish nationalist party because of my family's strong Irish connections and because they are fellow socialists and have always stood up for Irish freedom even during its darkest times. For me I believe Democracy, Moral Freedom, equality, Peace and Social justice are the most important things Which should never be taken away from the people. which is why I am politically a Left-wing, Christian Socialist, and a strong supporter of the Labour party and trade unions because for me no other institutions uphold it more and it is why I am a proud Anti-Totalitarian, Anti-Athiest, Anti-fascist and Anti Stalinist, and I am totally opposed to anything and anyone (like Adolf Hitler, Joseph Stalin, Benito Mussolini, Mao Zedong, Slobodan Milosevic, Robert Mugabe, Francisco Franco, Hideki Tojo, Enver Hoxha, Kim Jong-il, Pol Pot,) that\or who is against the principles I believe in mentioned above. And I support the current system in Britain of a decentralised Unitary state with a parliamentary democracy with political powers devolved to the constituent Nations of the United kingdom (i do not support breaking the country up though i do recognise The right of the peoples to independence if it is their wish and i also hope for a United Ireland one day) and local councils as I believe this is the best way to bring democracy to the people and gives them greater representation and a greater say in things and the best way to deliver services to them and I support further decentralisation. and I also believe in a republican system of government with an elected head of state which is sadly lacking in Britain because of an archaic and pointless, unelected monarchy. Economically I support a Mixed economy were the economy and business are owned by the people and are committed to serving their needs and were there is an organized, prosperous, and regulated private sector committed to serving the people and not committed to individual profit and exploitation. I believe that the interests of the people and society as a whole are more important than that of the individual. These reasons that I have mentioned above are why I am a virulent opponent of David Cameron and his Conservatives (and any other right-wing parties like the Overtly fascist British National Party and the Anti-European UKIP) Who I believe are trying to fool people into believing that they are different and have changed even though they still want to follow on with their traditional agenda of Thatcherism and privatization and their opposition to the Welfare state and economic and social equality, and use the powerful Right-Wing press and media to scaremonger people into voting for them by saying things like there are to many immigrants or criticizing the European Union, saying labour are trying to strip civil liberties even though they smashed the heads in of anyone who dared to express their legal right to protest and complain when they were in office, or blaming the economic downturn our country is currently suffering at the moment because of the credit crunch on labour even though it has been caused by greedy Capitalists, or saying Prime minister Gordon Brown is an unelected leader even though it is the party that is elected to power not an individual and a party can change its leader through terms any time they want to (The Conservatives did it with John Major) These Tactics I believe are simply designed to undermine the Labour party and the good work it has done like improving the NHS (Which labour created) drastically, the minimum wage for workers, presiding over the greatest economic growth in Britain's history and the lowest period of sustained inflation, the lowest amount of unemployment in our history and the highest ever rate of employment, the creation of a welfare state were the poorest pay the least taxes and the richest pay the highest and the taxes are invested in the community so that people who are out of a job can have a financial footing to start again and the poorest don't have to live in utter poverty, giving Scotland and Wales a form of self-government and creating an elected assembly for London and giving the people a greater say and solving the problems of northern Ireland by sitting down at the table with Irish nationalists and giving them an equal say with unionists in how the province is run something the conservatives refused to do, and improving education by pumping money into it and doubling the amount spent on children and forming the Open university giving everybody a chance to learn and better their lives and reducing crime by nearly 65 percent. All these things it has achieved since it became the government in 1997 and throughout its history, and also I believe this is the reason why the Right-wing are higher in the opinion polls at the moment because they certainly haven't brought out any new policies. plus also because of the scrapping of the 10p tax rate which Gordon brown has already addressed giving over 3 billion pounds to help those affected by it, and the economic slowdown caused by the Credit crunch. Overall Labour Need to maintain its sound economic and social policies and continue to help Britain through the global economic downturn And start to begin to expose the Conservative party and other right-wing parties for what they really are Scaremongers, privitisers, racists and liers without policies willing to exploit the common man and his fears for votes to try and get into office which I hope they wont because I have read and learned about what the conservatives did to this country between 1979 and 1997 the NHS was on its knees, privatization was rampant, they stripped trade unions of their democratic rights, unemployment was at 3 million people, their refusal to talk to the Irish nationalists caused absolute bloody murder in ulster (The Irish nationalists were fighting for equal rights and freedom from unionist dominance and oppression and the conservative government openly negotiated with Unionist terrorist organisations and gave them targets to take out and sent in the SAS into Ulster causing untold misery and suffering to Catholics, they refused to sit down at the table with Irish nationalists and the actions of the conservative government openly encouraged sectarianism), and my city, Liverpool, and my home town Bootle crumbled because of them cause they closed the docks, sacked the workers and gave shipping rights to foreign, private companies somewhere else for cheaper prices and refused to invest in this city something labour have done with the brand new Echo Arena and other new buildings springing up all over the place and the general improvement in our lives which I think is being repeated nationally in other cities and towns across the country and I for one wish to see this continue. These reasons are why my family and me have always opposed the conservative party and supported Labour and why they got up and tried to do something about the problems of the thatcher years, its what my father and uncle did during that time and reading about the abject suffering and agony of the ordinary working man that has inspired me to get involved in politics because I never want to see that suffering repeated again and I want to be a representative of the people and help my area, Bootle (which has been chronically under invested in by the Conservative-Liberal democrat run Sefton council and the National Conservative government beforehand) and the city and the 2 countries that I love and I personally hope they are never wrecked again by the reckless and rubbish policies of the conservative party who are willing to reduce ordinary working people to poverty for the sake of their own relentless greed.
I Firmly believe in the Values of Democratic socialism because democracy I believe is essential to any ideology and socialism is no different, and Social democracy because it supports an organised private sector and entrepreneurship, which is essential for economic prosperity because the state cannot subsidise everything and need to allow companies to be self-sufficient to gain prosperity and the state needs to allow ordinary people to create and run businesses so that they can gain some profit for themselves as well as contributing to society as a whole, with injustices removed, Christian socialism because of my faith and I believe the ideals of Christianity and socialism are one and the same and are interconnected and Environmentalism Because I believe it is extremely important that we look after our earth and maintain it for future generations to enjoy, equality and Social justice and I empathise and agree with some of the views of Communism as long as its the Truly Multi party, democratic, peace and freedom loving, totalitarian hating, and modern Eurocommunist form that is Followed by most communist parties of the modern day, parties such as the Party of Communists of the Republic of Moldova, the Portuguese Communist Party, the Progressive Party of Working People, and the Japanese Communist Party, and not the control freak, Archaic, Soviet style, evil Stalinist dictatorships of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union the Workers' Party of Korea the Party of Labour of Albania, the Khmer Rouge of the Communist Party of Kampuchea, the People's Democratic Party of Afghanistan, the Romanian Communist Party, the Hungarian Socialist Workers' Party, the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia, the Polish United Workers' Party, the Socialist Unity Party of Germany, the Bulgarian Communist Party, and the Communist Party of China who built their economies on the back of slave labour, a greedy politburo keeping the wealth to themselves, implementing forced state atheism and being anti-worker and anti-freedom and who nearly ruined its credibility as created by Karl Marx to be an ideology of the people to free them from injustice by causing injustice and restricting freedom. i believe all these political theory's Strive to bring financial and social equality, financial Stability and better standards of living for all people of all classes and races because they believe that property and the distribution of wealth Should be subject to control by the community and believe in the collective ownership of the means of production and seek to establish a classless, equal, democratic society free from social, racial and financial prejudice and injustice, a society were we all work together for the collective benefit of all the people and for the common good. were one class of people doesn't dominate over the other because of race or wealth and growing rich off of them and exploiting them for personal gain. unlike Right-wing views which I am bitterly opposed to but I have learned to respect people who believe in these views because I think to respect other peoples views is important in a modern, healthy democracy like Conservatism, Capitalism (I believe it should be reformed and become more organized with the social injustice removed like in Social democracy which I would prefer or abolished completely like in communism because unfettered, unorganized capitalism is just exploitation of the people and should not take place at the rate it goes at now and I believe it is unfettered capitalism that is causing the global economic slump at this moment in time because big business through their disgusting greed over the years have created a multi trillion pound debt across the planet whilst paying obscene salary's to their boards and CEO,s to live out lavish lives in Tax havens which simply is unacceptable and cannot continue), Corporatism, Monarchism (the lord God and Jesus Christ are the only ones I would ever Bow to) and the down right evil Far right philosophies of Fascism, Neo-Fascism and Nazism, Neo-Nazism and Supremacism (I am bitterly opposed to Racism in any form and the notion that a person is superior because of his ethnicity, religion, sexuality, or income and I am a proud Antifascist and bitterly opposed to the political parties and regimes that do/have propagate/propagated this filth like the British National Party, the British National Front, and Combat 18, in the UK today, and the National Socialist German Workers Party, the National Fascist Party, the Empire of Japan, Falange, Ustaše, Nedic Serbia and Estado Novo, and the numerous Military dictatorships, that have existed in history). I believe these ideologies exist to keep the class system going so that the rich do get richer and the poor get poorer and are easier to control.
Although the Right-wing emphasise individual liberty and freedom which are good things which I to also believe in also advocate that individuals are more important than society as a whole which I believe is a very selfish point of view and gives single individuals great power to control and rule over society and business, they fail to recognise that although individuals are important communities are even more so and should work for the benefit of the community and the people not for singular individual greed or gain, that said, I don't believe in individuals having to be forced to work as slaves to the state and living in squalor just to make the state rich I believe in people working for the greater good of the people as a whole as well as working hard to gain prosperity for themselves and their families, I oppose those, especially some on the extreme right that advocate dividing society on the means of an individual Class Or Race of People or Religion or Nationality and most advocate making our economy completely independent and private because they believe that property and the distribution of wealth Should be subject to control by individuals and believe in singular ownership of the means of production which I think is grossly obscene and greedy and allows a minority to control wealth and grow filthy rich off of it without giving anything to the majority who suffer because of it even though they work very hard for it. Although I understand that some companies should and need to be independent (For example the Bank of England to keep inflation low) for the sake of economic prosperity making everyone independent would give big corporations the power to run our lives and give the normal people no say on how we work or how we should be treated or how much we get paid. And also making every corporation economically independent causes economic instability. I personally Believe that Companies whether Private or state owned Should work for the benefit of the people or the community not for the sake of individual profit or financial greed that they work for at the moment and as I have stated would agree with an organised private sector that did this. also the right-wing try to uphold archaic systems of government like monarchy's for the sake of tradition which I believe is just to simply keep the masses down. These are ideologies I believe are very unequal and only benefit the wealthy and those that consider themselves Racially or religiously pure and ignore the Ordinary common people and Racial and religious minorities. No Race or religion of people and people who are Richer than the rest of us have no right to dominate over those they consider Racially or religiously inferior or those that are poorer than themselves, every person regardless of race or class should have the right to have a say on how we live and how we govern our world and even those on the political right would agree with that statement.

I am very proud of the achievements of my time on wikipedia and hope to achieve many more.
Im here on wikipedia because I want to help people and help the world become a better place by expanding knowledge by my editing and because I love knowledge and learning. I am part of many Wikiprojects and so far I have created The Other Light, Christianity in Abkhazia, Orthodoxy in Abkhazia, Marla faith, and List of political parties in Wales, Union of the Russians of Lithuania, and 2. deild articles, vastly improved the article state atheism, and have added to articles about Football, Languages (particularly the Albanian language), Countries (added info to Myanmar, Zimbabwe, Bhutan, Kosovo and vastly improved the Yugoslavia page and also proposed a separate article on the kingdom of Denmark containing both the former and its two autonomous provinces Greenland and the Faroe islands together which became known as Rigsfællesskabet. History, Religion (The Other Light and Marla faith articles) and politics I have Added more about Silvio Berlusconi and have added to Articles on political parties, particularly socialist ones though I add to any article about any party of any ideology because of my vast interest in the subject during which I have completely rewritten the History section of the Grand National Party added considerably to the articles New Kosovo Alliance and Latvian Farmers' Union created a section on the ideology of the National Democratic Party of Lithuania and completely expanded the article Socialist Party of Lithuania, and have completely modernised and updated the articles on the political parties of San Marino and recently I have been making it my mission to add and upload the Logos of different political parties, and adding infoboxes, to the articles for political parties that don't have them, so far I have done this to the political parties from San marino, Faroe islands, Slovakia, Lithuania, Albania, Gibraltar, Kosovo, Ukraine, Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Poland, Peru, Latvia, Sudan, Bangladesh, Syria, Cambodia, Belarus, Spain, Catalonia, Moldova, Transnistria, Belgium, Colombia, Azerbaijan, Mexico, Turkey, Pakistan, Dominican Republic, Bhutan, Afghanistan, Jordan, Russia, Mongolia Serbia, the European Union and Cuba. And have been adding the political compositions of local councils in the UK as they have been grossly under-represented on wikipedia and I hope to add more to this list soon and I also hope to learn a few things myself and want to contribute to the greatest on-line encyclopaedia on the Internet. My Wikipedia beliefs are basically those that are stated just below This paragraph that are the basic founding principles of the encyclopedia plus Being a socialist I believe in a strong sense of community and equality and on Wikipedia I believe it should be no different, the edits of a university student or an academic should not be considered better than the edits of someone with only a basic education simply because they are considered smarter and Again someone who is an Administrator should not consider themselves or their edits superior to someone who is just a user or even edits by IP. All should be considered an equally valid contribution to the Wikipedia cause and if there is a disagreement then it should be up to the Wikipedia community to decide democratically what they want to do with an edit to an article, because we should all work together for the good of the Wikipedia cause to provide knowledge to the world and to make the encyclopaedia better and not get caught up with our individual aims and ambitions and to destroy those Vandals (Vandal monitor located below) that constantly seek to ruin our hard work and overall in the end there is one thing we all agree on we firmly believe in the Wikipedia doctrine that knowledge should always be free and that everybody has a right to it! no one should ever have to pay for it.
