Views on Wikipedia
User pages should not be used as social media profiles and contain utterly irrelevant information, such as whether likes a certain piece of media. A user page should focus describing a users's history on Wikipedia, views on Wikipedia and their contributions. Not information irrelevant to Wikipedia.
Talk pages on Wikipedia are a complete mess and need to be completely revamped. It uses the same format as main Wikipedia pages, but it should in fact use a different format. It is too confusing to use for new users.
Typically users use indentations to make it clearly delineate messages from each other. This has the obvious problem when there are several replies. After a few replies the discussion has moved too far to the right, and it has to be moved back.
Instead the talk page format should follow a format similar to an imageboard or a discussion forum. This would solve the above problems.
As it stands, you have to have a page on your watchlist or to manually check it to see if anyone responds to anything you post. It should be more like a modern website and simply notify you.
There is a tendency to create overly long first sentences in articles, especially biographies. Example:
Richard "Rick" McCallum' (born August 22, 1954) is a German-born American film producer mostly known for his work on the The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles as well as the Star Wars Trilogy: Special Edition and prequel trilogy.
Which I changed to:
Richard "Rick" McCallum (born August 22, 1954) is a German-born American film producer. He is mostly known for his work on the The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles as well as the Star Wars Trilogy: Special Edition and prequel trilogy.
I also feel that leeds should be spelled as it sounds. "Lead" simply makes no sense. Also, a leed should have citations.
I am a strong advocate against non-notable Wikipedia pages. More should be done to counter them. The following pages are ones that I will investigate to see whether they pass notability or not. If they do not I may start a deletion discussion on them:
- List of Space: 1999 weapons and equipment
- Christoph Luxenberg
- Jensen Karp
- Greta Christina
- Historical accuracy of Gladiator (2000 film)
- Food for the Poor
- Amazing Science Stories
- The Spoony Experiment

- Table Flip
- NSFW (album)
- Strawberries and Cream
- Hellbenders (series)
- Dick Figures: The Movie
- Spider-Man's powers and equipment
In popular culture
These are usually just "pop culture trivia" sections. Should be removed.

Put another way, our fairness is that which is owed to our readers, not to advocates of disproven viewpoints who seek to mislead them, and we fulfill that duty by not treating anecdotes as though they were data. |source =Nunh-huh 02:59, 6 May 2012 (UTC)]] Source: Talk:AIDS denialism#Fairness, 02:59, 6 May 2012 (UTC)
