I have been a professional journalist, historian, and editor for 35 years since graduating with a masters degree in journalism from Colombia Journalism School. I have authored or co-authored four books, published dozens of articles in major magazines, and written introductions for nearly a dozen books.

Nearly 100 years ago, Sir James Murray, the longtime editor of the original Oxford English Dictionary, inscribed a book of photographs of Oxford, England and gave it to my great-grandfather for his many important contributions to the OED.

In a similar vein, I have been delighted to help improve Wikipedia in a very modest way for 2 years, 7 months and 17 days, and have edited over 100 pages.

Articles I have created include: Al Hine, Alexander G.B. Grosvenor, Brian Steel, Byron Dobell, Calumet Bluff, Current Books, Curtis Wilkie, Edwin A. Grosvenor, Glur's Tavern, Literary Society of Washington, Neligh Mill, Richard M. Ketchum, and Whitney Sudler-Smith.
