What do you think of singularitarianism?I think the concept of technological singularity is really worth exploring, and the singularity itself is very promissing. Also, I agree very much on creating a superior machine intelligence before creating the nanotechnology to avoid it's dangers. [edit] 5. Why did you start learning Japanese?To put it simply, because I've had thoughts of becoming a Japanese. Being a child, I could see the surprisingly intelligent behaviour of Japanese in various areas starting from their products and technologies, and ending with their culture. I felt a strong [agreement] with, preference and interest in certain ways they lead life. When I was around 12-14 years old, while I was thinking a lot of my identity, I had this thought: "Well, as I am still young, I have a right to choose a country I want to identify myself with!", and having strongly decided "I choose Japan!", the first step of my plan was to master the Japanese. I didn't think that choosing an identity is something very unusual or rare for normal people: respectively from one's family, one does choose a company, and become a loyal to it. This was why I have studied Japanese language, wanting to become a member of this society. However, after about 1 year of studies in Japan, I felt that I have become much more an internationalist. For me, it means that I am much more concerned about the global problems, reciprocal love between nations, or becoming a "Citizen of the World.", and if we don't have such a citizenship yet, I prefer to renounce my present citizenship, and still have my rights as a human to live a normal life, be recognized by the legal bodies in any country, be able to legally stay in any country as far as I comply/agree with certain basic and common-sense conditions that each country should have. |
