I hate talking about me myself, so this is mostly just me talking about my interests... Which I figure is important to my edits on Wikipedia in the sense that my background and where my interests lie affect my point of view.

I am a New Yorker, and I hope to someday make a living as a writer (currently attending a creative writing school). A bit of a history geek and a bookworm, but I'm also an avid fan of theatre, anime, magic/fantasy/supernatural (minus the stereotypical big-headed green aliens), and Law&Order/CSI-type shows. I love comedy and tragedy/drama, the better the combination the better the story, I can't read/watch straight happy or fluff (unless it's a straight-humor cartoon). Genre interests pretty much all over the place, except sports--never been too interested in that (fictionally or in "real life").
Otherwise I try to be an open minded person, though I can get a bit over-passionate at times when it's something important to me (child abuse, gay rights, Wiccan stereotypes,--especially when remarks are made by simply ignorant-by-choice people).

[edit] Characters I Love (and hope to someday create my own just as memorable)
- Chris Halliwell- I didn't start watching Charmed until the season right after Prue's death, though I have since caught up, and I immidietly fell in love with it. Cole was my favorite for a long time, and Paige at a point too, but for some reason the minute Chris showed up he just stole my attention. As an anime fan (and former Sailor Moon fanatic), the "from the future" theme wasn't new, but I'm not sure if it was the sarcastic/frustrated quips or unapologetic manipulating of the main characters, and of course the secret angst-filled backstory (I have a habit of loving tortured characters--or rather every character I love inevitably ends up getting torutured), but he just filled the place that Cole left tenfold on my favorite show, and brought back a seriousness that I wasn't sure Charmed would be able to have again without the half-demon/ex-Source.

“If I can't save you, I swear to God, I'll stop you.” |

- Cole Turner- The reason I will never be able to fully forgive Phoebe and where I disagree with the Charmed Ones, as much as I love Paige. They were cruel to him, and they drove him mad. People need to be forgiven and allowed a second chance, he gave up everything for them (the reason he became the Source!), but it was thrown back in his face.

I'm a demon with a soul, Phoebe. It's rather unique to the cosmos. |

“But who Mark are you? Mark has got his work, they say Mark lives for his work and Mark's in love with his work--Mark hides in his work...From facing your failure, facing your lonliness, facing the fact, you live a lie. Yes you live a lie! Tell you why: you're always preaching not to be numb, when that's how you thrive! You pretend to create and observe when you really detach from feeling alive!” |

— It's scary when you see yourself in a character, and it's not in a positive light

Miranda by John William Waterhouse
I tend to favor the Anti-Heroes (the "Good but not the angelic main character" type) and the darker characters (with the tragic background that is their basic motivation).
My sister jokes with me that whatever character I pick as my favorite is inevitably dammed to suffer some horrible tragedy sooner or later.

“Hello. My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die!” |

- Subaru Sumeragi- I am a huge CLAMP fan, and they do love to torment their characters, but I have yet to see any character more tragic than Subaru. His descent from Tokyo Babylon to X/1999, there has never been a greater loss of innocence or more heartbreak in anything I've seen before.
- Hokuto Sumeragi- Best Female Character Ever. My Role Model. Period. Nobody beats Hokuto.
- Yūko Ichihara- Hokuto reincarnated. And drunk. With a servant.
- Kurama- The boy who taught me all about yaoi, the world of Obsessive Female Anime Fandom (and all its different sects), and the trouble with having multiple personalities. There is much one can learn from Kurama. He is the ultimate bishonen (though the CLAMP boys are very very close, Kurama will always be the best example). In my preference, Kurama is also always an uke.
- Yusuke Urameshi- He's the type of character you just can't help but fall in love with. I think it's the fact that he is such an unapologetic sarcastic bastard, and funny at the same time. Because of him, I still prefer more than half the YYH anime scenes in English, though I guess that's more Justin Cook than Yusuke. Also, Yusuke I believe is the originator of "Gon Logic," which always makes me laugh. (I STILL say he's Gon's dad, I don't care if they're from completely different series! Yusuke is Gon's Dad!)
- Just as a Note: YYH wins the most crazy fan couples award, because for any fandom I've ever been a part of, YYH has the most passionate and crazy pairings (except for maybe Harry Potter, but I think that's more of the fact that there are more fans for Harry Potter rather than the story itself egging on the fandom).
- And since I was obsessed with it for so long, I feel like I have to write down this: I cannot stand Keiko Yukimura (most annoying female character award), support first Yuskur, then HieixKurama, completely against the nonsensical BotanxKurama pairing (although Botan is one of my favorite characters), and Genkai rules. I now officially feel like a teenage fangirl again.
- Michiru Kaioh and Haruka Tenoh- When I first saw it, I thought they were the coolest people in the world, characters that were good guys but mean to the corny star of the show. Plus, they were cousins who were close and strong fighters, and being very close to my own cousin I thought it was like me and my cousin in Sailor Senshi form. Then I found the internet. The my crossover anime, where I discovered there was a Japanese version of the show...and my favorite characters were a little...different. But I was already attached to them, and I was at the age where "Oh, so they're gay...well, they're cool so that means that it must be okay to be gay." Anime is very powerful, it can make you open-minded, or corrupt, depending on what you're watching. XD
- Hotaru Tomoe- I always love the angsty characters...and being that this girl went through possession, an insane father, suffering from a very weak heart, murder attempts by the good guys, the loss of her best friend thanks to her alternate personality, and the fact that her past life probably qualifies as the most depressing out of all the senshi, since it consists of her sleeping until it's time for her to destroy the rest of the Silver Millienium. She "dies" the season she's introduced, but then is reborn as a child who grows into a semi-evil little girl, or at least a scarily powerful one...But she's still a kind person, and thus she's quite lovable in my eyes. Plus, I am in love with the music that always played whenever she used her senshi powers in Sailor Moon S

I have a weakness for mythological-themed, fantasy/allegory, floral/wind/wing-themed, and 19th century (especially Pre-Raphaelite) paintings. I have no idea why.
-
The Siren
I love this painting . . . which may make me a little evil, but it's one of my favorites
-
Nymphs Finding the Head of Orpheus
Another Dark one . . . but it does have beautiful colors
-
The Mermaid
One of the best (and most realistic) mermaid paintings/pictures I've ever come across

Young Shepherdess
There's just something about the way Bouguereau paints faces...

Although I didn't notice it at first, my favorite part of the painting is the instrument on her lap.

Either this or "Eos" is my favorite of this series...

The look on her face reminds me of Mary from The Secret Garden...

Lilith
I absolutely love the painting (maybe because I was born year of the Snake?), and can't help but feel sorry for her for getting such a negative view in history...I don't know, I just sympathize with her.
-
Valkyrie
Best depiction of a Valkyrie, period.
-
Spring
I am very curious as to what exactly her dress is made out of...looks almost like plastic...
