When I was young, I dreamt of becoming a scientist, but then I read this, and then many other sources reaffirming the same point of view, and so I am a software engineer with a college degree in physics and a hobby of editing Wikipedia. Maybe that's for the best, because my interests are too diverse and shallow for a real scientist anyway.
My Myers-Briggs profile is ISTP. (One more reason not to become a scientist.)
I was originally known as User:Itinerant. Then I lost my password and couldn't get in with that user name any more. And my attempts to get that account back proved fruitless. So I've created a new one.
Some contributions from IPs 22.214.171.124 and 126.96.36.199 are also mine.
I am often called out for contributing what others consider original research; this is flattering but false, mostly because my opportunities to conduct original research are limited and my contributions are much more likely to be cases of poorly attributed third-party research.
