About Me

My name is James. I was born on November 13, 1965. For the first 5 and a half years of my life, I was living in Bayside, Queens. Since 1971, I have been living in Port Washington, New York, which is located in Nassau County in Long Island. In 1984, I graduated from Schreiber High School. I have a Master's Degree in Library Science from Long Island University C.W. Post Campus. I work at a public library in Plainview, New York. I am Jewish. I also consider myself New Age.

My Favorite TV Shows, Movies, Books and Restaurants

TV Shows

My favorite soap operas are: The Young and the Restless, All My Children, One Life to Live, General Hospital and Days of our Lives. I watch them on Soapnet. Also, I enjoy watching Ugly Betty.

I am renting The X-Files, Smallville, Supernatural, Charmed, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, Roswell, Millennium, Taken, The 4400, The Lone Gunmen and Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman on DVD from Netflix.

Books, Movies and Bowling

I enjoy reading Harry Potter books. My favorite movies are The Matrix, V for Vendetta, Star Wars, Super Size Me, Indiana Jones, The X-Files movie, the Rocky movies and the Harry Potter movies. I also enjoy bowling.

Restaurants

My favorite restaurants are T.G.I. Friday's, Ground Round, Cheeburger Cheeburger, IHOP, Applebee's, Red Lobster, Outback Steakhouse, Chili's, The Cheesecake Factory, Johnny Rockets, Pizza Hut, Rainforest Cafe, Hard Rock Cafe, the local diner and Ruby Tuesday. I have also eaten at Bennigan's, Benihana, Burger King, McDonald's, Nathan's Famous, Swensons, KFC and Taco Bell. I have not eaten at White Castle or Wendy's.

My Brother and His Family

I have one older brother, who works at North Shore Animal League America. He has two stepdaughters. One of his stepdaughters has Asperger syndrome and Bipolar disorder. His other stepdaughter has Autism.

My Girlfriend

Asha and James

I met my girlfriend Asha at the Jewish Community Center in East Hills, New York. Asha's mother is Jewish. Her father is Hindu and comes from India.

My Best Friend

I have a female best friend. Her name is Michele. We have known each other since we were children. She has Diabetes mellitus type 1.

Social Group

Asha, Michele and I are active in a social group that meets at New York Institute of Technology in Old Westbury, New York on Sunday evenings. The group is run by a psychotherapist who helps people who have social anxiety and learning disabilities.

Travel

Montreal

In May 2007, our group went to Montreal for the weekend. Some of the places we went to include: Saint Catherine Street; Underground city, Montreal; Montreal Biodome; Old Port of Montreal. We will had dinner at Hard Rock Cafe. We stayed at Marriott SpringHill Suites.

New York City

In December 2006, Asha and I went into Manhattan with our group to see Mary Poppins at the New Amsterdam Theatre. After the show, we went to the Food court at South Street Seaport for dinner.

On New Year's Day, which is Asha's birthday, Asha and I went into Manhattan with her family. We went to St. Patrick's Cathedral and Rockefeller Center.

San Francisco

In October 2005, I went to San Francisco, California with my family for a wedding. We had time for sightseeing. Some of the places we visited were Pier 39, Fisherman's Wharf and Ghirardelli Square.

Cradle of Aviation Museum

In September 2005, Asha and I went to the Cradle of Aviation Museum with my parents.

On the Internet, I use Yahoo! Messenger; MSN Messenger, which is now Windows Live Messenger; AOL Instant Messenger and Google Talk. Megan Patricia McVey is on my Yahoo! Messenger list.
