Perth Linux Users Group, Inc (PLUG) is a Linux User Group based in Perth, Western Australia. It is loosely affiliated with Linux Australia. As at 2012 it is the only Linux User Group in Western Australia.

History[edit]

PLUG started in the mid 1990s, and was incorporated as a non-profit association on the 14th September 1998[1].

In 2003 PLUG hosted the national Linux conference, Linux.conf.au, at The University of Western Australia.

Activities and Events[edit]

PLUG holds a monthly presentation, often at Lotteries House City West at 2 Delhi Street, West Perth. This is often given by a PLUG member, or a well known personality within the Linux and Open Source community, and occasionally an interstate or international guest.

PLUG also holds a social gathering every two months at a pub; there is normally no organised speaker, and it is purely a social gathering.

From time to time, other events such as Installfests, Quiz Nights, Information Seminars and Workshops.
