This user hopes that in light of massive media coverage of the blackout that SOPA and PIPA will not become a law.

I've been a Wikipedian since "day one". I have seen it mature into the single greatest source of information freely available to all persons regardless. I am proud to be associated with this project.

SOPA/PIPA are the single greatest threat to the free dissemination of information ever created. If this or similar legislation is passed, it will undoubtedly mean the end of the World Wide Web as we know it today. It was not a light decision when I chose to support this blackout; however, unless the people is made aware of the serious nature of this legislation and convinces their representatives, Wikipedia could very well be "blacked out" forever in any jurisdiction that passes such legislation.

It is with the hope that this is one fight that we, the people, will not loose that I support the blackout. Please use this as an opportunity to inform yourself about this issue and make a considered decision to support the fight against SOPA/PIPA.

Hello, Sailor!

I'm a frequent user and infrequent editor of the English Wikipedia project (first demonstrable edit was 9 years, 5 months and 26 days ago; I was an editor from various public access locations without an account before that). The vast majority of my contributions are on-the-fly corrections/additions that I make when otherwise using Wikipedia. On a rare occasion I may pick a topic that I discuss in real life and work on pages associated with it. I've decided to adopt as my only formal Wikipedia editing policy "I don't have any formal Wikipedia editing policies other than this." I have no aspirations to or delusions of grandeur in any formal roles other than that of the occasional random editor. While I wish that I could, I simply do not have the time to do more. This said, I would love to be hired by a philanthropist to be a full-time editor on Wikiepdia! (Hint, hint....)
