Jay Lee currently works in Strategic Business Planning Team at Samsung Electronics. Lee’s well balanced backgrounds in both humanity and engineering reinforce on new business planning and business alliance framework to develop next generation platform using digital media technologies. He has also served as Head of Future Convergence Group at Samsung to provide executive lens for creative and strategic product planning for emerging technologies, as a research program liaison of the Samsung-MIT Corporate Research Partnership, and as an academic board member of Seoul National University. Before joining Samsung, Lee was a Scientist and Research Assistant at the MIT Media Laboratory. His research at the lab is in the field of Human-Computer Interaction, designing new computational embedded interfaces to bridge the digital and physical worlds seamlessly. Lee has also worked closely on extending the Media Lab’s world-partner collaborations.

Jay Lee received three Master degrees, two from field of Science at MIT and one from Fine Arts degree at Hong-Ik University in Seoul, followed by undergraduate degree. His research has been published by ACM SIGCHI and SIGGRAPH, and he has exhibited interactive work at MIT-CAVS, SIGGRAPH, NTT-ICC, Ars Electronics, Interaction, and has presented his visionary speech worldwide. Lee is an IDEA 2000 award recipient for interface design. He now lives in Korea with his wife Yuny and son, Mir.
