[edit] Voicing @ #wikipedia-en-help

Hi - according to this lovely page, you are one of three whom I could poke if I wanted to become voiced in the #wikipedia-en-help IRC channel. I was hoping you could do this for me. Thanks, ~SuperHamster Talk Contribs 02:39, 29 June 2010 (UTC)

[edit] Proposed deletion of Lucretia Prewett

Ambox warning yellow.svg

The article Lucretia Prewett has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Fails WP:N. Extremely minor character, not mentioned in any of the many articles on Harry Potter, nor in any reliable independent sources. She doesn't have any role or influence on the story.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Fram (talk) 08:37, 17 September 2010 (UTC)

[edit] MfD nomination of Wikipedia:Request an account/Administrators

Wikipedia:Request an account/Administrators, a page you substantially contributed to, has been nominated for deletion. Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/Wikipedia:Request an account/Administrators and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of Wikipedia:Request an account/Administrators during the discussion but should not remove the miscellany for deletion template from the top of the page; such a removal will not end the deletion discussion. Thank you. -- DQ (t) (e) 00:11, 12 October 2010 (UTC)

[edit] Inquiry About Previously Deleted Page

Hi, hope you will be doing good. Can you please give me background of a page deleted by you [1]. There has been a dispute raised over article Hindu extremism that I created few days back and we need to discuss the issue. Unless there is background to the issue, I will be creating new talk page, kindly step in with your advise. Sarmadhassan (talk) 20:45, 9 January 2011 (UTC)

[edit] Fuzzbox (album) by The Section Quartet

Heya. I was wondering why the article on The Section Quartet's album Fuzzbox was deleted and if I would be allowed to recreate an article on the album based with the reference from the Apple iTunes' website http://itunes.apple.com/us/album/fuzzbox-bonus-track-version/id262159999. Thanks!

Hi, CutcoBrently. I know that John Reaves isn't around much, so - in-passing - thought I'd try to answer.
I'm not sure which deleted article you're asking about - I couldn't find it.
But, no - just a ref to iTunes would not be enough. It doesn't show why the specific album is "notable". All articles need that - see WP:VRS - but, in particular, please see WP:NALBUM.
I hope that helps.  Chzz  ►  19:55, 15 February 2011 (UTC)

[edit] IRC chat

Hello, there is an upcoming, very informal discussion on IRC on the freenode channel ##chzzalpha connect (quick webchat link) on the 6th March 2011 at 17:00 UTC concerning ways to improve help over IRC, and other matters relating to Wiki?edia channels in general, but mostly about #wikipedia-en-help.

This is just a friendly, informal chat. Nothing official, no fixed agenda. There is nothing 'secretive' about it - anyone is quite welcome. Some of you had a chat there, the other day. We wanted to invite them to carry on discussions, at a prearranged time - and thought it courteous to ask group contacts and channel founders too. Or if you signed up manually.

If you aren't at all interested, feel free to remove yourself from the names we've spammed this to, which is in User:123Hedgehog456/IRC informal chat users. If you didn't sign up, well, people have been adding loads of names to the list, so someone might have accidentally added your name.

Thank you,  Chzz  ►  and 123Hedgehog456 19:49, 15 February 2011 (UTC).

[edit] Confusion over a deleted page.

Hello and thank you in advance for your time and consideration.

In 2005 a film I had edited ("The Aristocrats) had been a critical success and had even broken box office records for an indie film release. A Wikipedia page was quickly created for the film and I was properly credited as the editor of the film. When I attempted to create a simple bio page for myself (Emery Emery) It was summarily deleted. I understood that I had written the page a bit too much like a promotional for myself and that was the reason.

After really delving into the process, I took another swing at creating a page and even used the format of an existing Wiki page for a person in the same line of work as myself so as not to get deleted again. This time I found online publications and articles to put in as many references as possible too.

So, After creating the page, I discovered that it is also marked for quick deletion. I really am at a loss. How does one ensure that his wikipedia page will actually be considered on it's merits? I am a professional comedian of 30 years with numerous articles about my performance days in circulation across the web. I am an accomplished film maker with credits on IMDB for directing, producing and editing for numerous television shows and films. I am a contributing author for best selling book, The Atheist's Guide To Christmas. I have a DVD for sale on CD Baby and the iTunes store and I am currently host of an internet based radio show/podcast called "Ardent Atheist" and all of these accomplishments are easily varifiable and all have been cited.

These are merely the highlights of career in entertainment. I tried to choose the most noteworthy moments of my career rather than just list all my credits on the page and still, I cannot understand how it has already been marked for deletion.

Can you shed any light on this process so that I may be represented on Wikipedia along side many of my contemporaries who have half the number of credits and far less noteworthy accomplishments than myself?

Again, thank you for your time. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Emeryemery (talkcontribs) 04:26, 29 April 2011 (UTC)

I notice that the entry for "electronic lab notebook" has sprouted links to some of my company's multinational competitors, who hover over that page like hawks. I have in the past attempted to create an article describing my own ELN company , www.rescentris.com, and link to it from "electronic lab notebook", but my page was deleted because is was considered an advertisement.

Rescentris is a small company notable for it's unique use of semantic technologies and open source tools. We would very much like to have both a wikipedia entry for our company and a link on the ELN page pointing at our article. Can you offer advise on how to accomplish this. Competition in the ELN market is fierce, and I would very much like to see an "everyone or nobody" approach to the ELN vendor list on the "electronic lab notebook" page. We like to think we are a reasonable and ethical company and company we are comfortable with allowing ELNs to compete fairly with each other, but a selective and limited list of vendors on the "electronic lab notebook" page seems unfair. Thanks for listening. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Invasifspecies (talkcontribs) 21:07, 27 July 2011 (UTC)
