Hi! My name is Andrea James.
I am a writer and activist based in Los Angeles.
My interests on Wikipedia include issues related to film and literature, scientific methodology, consumer fraud and medical quackery, skeptical inquiry, hoaxes, gender, hair removal, humor, and probably several other things since I wrote this. Though I realize the irony of having one in my own user page, I hate seeing a red link in an article, so I usually click on it and start an entry if I can find enough information. I've made over 17,000 edits and started over 1,100 articles, many of them biographies.
When not editing here, I work in the film/TV industry. Some recent projects: I directed the short film "Casting Pearls," a Logo Season 4 winner of The Click List: Best in Short Film. I was a consulting producer and had an on-camera role in Transamerican Love Story, a competitive dating show. I coached Felicity Huffman for her role in Transamerica and appear at the very beginning of the film. I am also in the HBO documentary Middle Sexes: Redefining He and She and a Logo documentary about our involvement in V-Day with Eve Ensler and Jane Fonda called Beautiful Daughters. My latest project is the short film Transproofed. I also run several websites on consumer issues, and I am a proud affiliate of Quackwatch. You can learn more about me and my work at my personal website.
